Career
He was appointed a Councillor of the Imperial Court. In 1130, he confined himself at his home because he was ashamed of having failed to be appointed Gon Chunagan (Vice-Minister). He, however, obtained the post (1133) with the support of Emperor Sutoku and was promoted to Dajo Daijin (Prime Minister)(1160).
