Furuhata Tanemoto was born in Mie Prefecture in 1891.
Furuhata Tanemoto graduated from the Medical School, Tokyo University (1916). Further studied forensic medicine at the same university and in Germany, France, Britain and the United States. Won his doctorate (1923) and subsequently was appointed professor at the Kanazawa Medical College and professor at Tokyo University (1936).
Furuhata Tanemoto was a professor at the Kanazawa Medical College and professor at Tokyo University. In 1927, he attended an international anthropological conference in Holland and the Pacific Scientific Conference in Canada (1933). An authority on forensic medicine, he is also noted as an expert on serum and folklore connected with blood.
