Career
Furuta Ryoichi served as part-time compilor of municipal history of Kobe, became assistant professor (1923) and then professor (1928) of Tohoku University, afterward became president of Tohoku Society for Study of History and chairman of Commission for Compilation of Municipal Histories of Sendai and Shiogama.
