Futami Kohei graduated from Tokyo University in 1914.
Futami Kohei entered career as music critic by joining staff of ”Music and Literature” Magazine led by Otaguro Moto-o (1916). Entered Foreign Affairs Ministry and served at Japanese diplomatic offices in Germany, Italy and other countries. Translated “Elegy“, by Massenet and other songs: also published translations of “Theory of Musical Aesthetics” by Busoni.
