Fyodor was born April 7 (20), 1914, in Zapol’ye village (now Komarovichy village, Petrikovsky district, Homel region) in a peasant family.

In 1950 he graduated from the postgraduate course at the Institute of Peat of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR and became a candidate of technical sciences. Since 1951 - senior research fellow of the Institute of Peat of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR.
In 1941, he graduated from Minsk polytechnic university and started to work as an engineer at the peat enterprise (Vitebsk region).
At the beginning of the war, Malyishev and his friends were captured by the enemy troops and were sent to a prison camp. Together with other prisoners-of-war, he escaped and got to Polessye. There he met guerilla detachment, among which there were his brothers.
After he returned to the home village, Malyishev joined the guerilla squad.
Since July 1942, he started to engage in subversive activities.
November 1942, he became the commander of the subversive group, 78th detachment of 125th Kopatkevichsky guerilla brigade (Polessye region);
In 1943, he became the member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
Maliyshev derailed 19 enemy echelons, destroyed 16 trains and 191 wagons, among which 42 with fuel drums, 46 – with enemy forces, 56 with food supply, 28 with ammunition and 19 – with building materials.
By the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR’s Decree, August 15, 1944, Captain Maliyshev Fyodor Alekseevich was awarded Hero of the Soviet Union title for “exemplary fulfillment of the combat missions during the war against German-fascist invaders and the courage and heroism shown at that time” and received Order of Lenin.
Because of injuries and physical exhaustion, Fyodor Alekseevich was sent to Moscow for treatment even before the liberation of Belarus.
In 1946, he started to work in Ministry of Fuel Industry, and then headed the laboratory "Integrated use of peat deposits in Polessye", the Institute of Peat of the Academy of Sciences, BSSR.
Maliyshev became the Candidate of Technical Sciences.
He spent a significant part of his scientific and labor activity at the peat experimental station in Dukor. Here he set up experiments that were subsequently used by agricultural collectives not only in the republic but also far beyond its borders. He published many articles and monographs during the years of scientific and practical work. For his achievements in science and the introduction of discoveries, Fyodor Alekseevich was repeatedly awarded orders and medals. The discoveries of the scientist are still used in Belarus and abroad to improve soil fertility.
He lived in Minsk. Maliyshev Fyodor died May 1, 2005. He was buried on East cemetery. The plaque was set on the building where Maliyshev had lived (Minsk). School #48 was named after him. In Komarovichy village the museum of his military glory was created.
In 1943, he became the member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
