Li G. H. graduated from the Hunan College in 1910. He received his advanced education in America, where he studied architecture at the University of Michigan, graduating with Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in 1917.
Mr. Li was engaged in educational and architectural work in Hunan for a time after his return. He was a principal of the Government preparatory school in Kaifeng which was later organised into the Chung Chou University, Henan. Mr. Li served as a President of the Fu Chong College of Mines in Chaozhou for three years. He was a dean and architect for the building of Chung Chou University and assistant architect to Shattuck and Hussey at the laying of foundations of the Peking Union Medical College between 1917 and 1918. Later he became a member of the Henan Provincial Government.
