1999Inspired by the writings of author John Robbins in his Pulitzer Prize-nominated book Diet for a New America, Davis was motivated to educate people further about the spiritual, physical, ethical, and environmental implications of our dietary choices. She was also influenced by such insightful authors as physician Neal Barnard in Food for Life, Jeremy Rifkin in Beyond Beef, and Gail Eisnitz in Slaughterhouse, as well as the writings of historical sages like Pythagoras, Porphyry, Thomas Tryon, Da Vinci, George Bernard Shaw, and Albert Schweitzer. She is continually inspired by the outspokenness of living legends Brigid Brophy, Alex Hershaft, Alice Walker, Peter Singer, the Dalai Lama and many others.
Quotations: “In my own work, my goal is to enlighten people about the healthy benefits of adopting a plant-based diet and show them how easy, fun, and delicious nutritious eating can be. I am also striving to make folks more aware of the global impact of their food choices and hope to empower them to make the transition to a kinder, healthier, more environmentally friendly dietary lifestyle.”
Davis is a member of the Earth Save International, the Farm Animal Reform Movement, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the Voice for a Viable Future and the PETA.
