2007Quotations: Gavin Reid told CA: “My motivation for writing emerges from my experiences as a psychologist and teacher when I was required to teach and assess children who were not coping with learning in the conventional manner. It was clear to me that these students had considerable abilities but were prevented from fulfilling their potential because many were, in fact, dyslexic. With appropriate provision, recognition of their learning styles, and the use of individualized learning programs, the evidence suggests that dyslexic students can succeed and excel.''
Gavin is a member of British Psychological Society, British Dyslexia Association.
In 1972 Gavin married Lorraine Beattie, who died in 1990. They have a child, Christopher.
