(Based on his own empirical research and a thorough review...)
Based on his own empirical research and a thorough review of the literature and further verified through his own consulting practice, the author introduces what he has found to be the key ingredients to effective "Management by Involvement". The ingredients are introduced in order of significance and a chapter is devoted to each one, explaining the various ways that each can be integrated into a practical working model to assure the highest possible levels of morale, productivity and quality assurance. The ingredients suggested as comprising an effective employee involvement plan are management support, significance, feedback, ease of involvement, clarity of issues, totality or comprehensiveness of involvement and personal meaningfulness. Not only is the action model in this book founded on sound principles and theory, but there are numerous case examples woven throughout to demonstrate how successful organizations have implemented one or more aspects of the model. The concepts put forth are applicable to all cultures, organization forms and hierarchial levels.
