Genzaburo was born on April 9, 1899 in Tokyo, Japan.
Genzaburo Yoshino served first with Sanseido Publishing Company and then at Tokyo University Library and thereafter became chief editor of Nihon Shokokumin Bunko (The Japan Children's Library) published by Shincho Publishing Company. Has been with Iwanami Shoten (since 1937). After the war served as chief editor of Sekai (The World) magazine, meantime held additional posts as lecturer of Literary Arts Department of Meiji University and adviser of Economic Stabilization Board.
