Background
Geoffrey Hubert Alabaster was born on the twenty-sixth of July, 1888 in New York. Henry Alabaster was his father and Hawkes was his mother. In February 1913, Geoffrey arrived in China. Most of his life he lived and worked in Tientsin.

He finished Clifton College and London University (King's College). In September, 1920 Geoffrey took a four year’s engineering course at King's College University of London including works training at the City and Somth London Railway and Messrs.
Career
Geoffrey Hubert Alabaster worked as a volunteer of Corps Service. Till June, 1919 he was a volunteer at Tientsin British Volunteer Corps. Also Alabaster worked at Vickers Sons and Maxim in Erith, Kent. In 1911 Geoffrey Hubert Alabaster was a President of King's College Engineering Society.
