1983. That same year he was the first person in Washington, District of Columbia After attending Howard University for a short time, G-Wiz moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. He was also songwriting on the side. In 1987 he was able to get his song "She"s Fly" onto Tony Terry"s debut album Forever Yours.
The song went to number ten on the Billboard United States. Rhythm & Blues Singles chart and to number 80 on the United States Billboard Hot 100.
Since then, G-Wiz has been acting, producing music, and writing screenplays and music for television and film.
