He was graduated at the Trenton Academy.
While still in his teens the young man entered the local office of C. E. Graham to begin his architectural study, and after moving to Philadelphia gained experience in draftsmanship while successively employed in the offices of Sloan & Hutton, Adison Hutton and John McArthur, Jr.
During his years of independent practice in Philadelphia, Mr. Pearson devoted much of his time to designing churches, also other types of public buildings. Among the noted examples of his work should be mentioned three churches in Germantown (where he made his home), namely St. Luke's, the Market Square Church, and Tunker Church. In addition he designed the Colonial Building in Philadelphia, the Cricket Club on Chestnut Hill, and elsewhere a number of hotels in Virginia, Railroad Stations of the Norfolk and Western R.R in Virginia, College buildings and a resort hotel at DeLand, Florida.
