G. V. Millett first attended the Royal Academy in Munich, Bavaria in 1886. Eight years later, he returned to the Royal Academy in Munich, in October, 1894, returning by January 1896 when he helped found the Kansas City Art Club. Millett kept corresponded from Munich through the Kansas City Star and Times regarding the establishment of an Art Hall in the new Library building.
