Career
1938-1944 at Leningrad Physicotechn. Institute; since 1944 at various establishments, USSR Academy of Science. Main works deal with physics of atomic nucleus and cosmic ray physics.
1940 with K. A. Petrzhak discovered the phenomenon of spontaneous splitting of heavy nuclei.
