1929 graduate Kiev Medical Institute.
From 1926, while a student, developed an interest in psychiatry. Also interested in physical training. After graduate assistant professor, Professor Ye.K. Krasnushkin’s Psychiatric Clinic, 1st Moscow Medical Institute.
Then Professor Victoria and Albert Gilyarovskiy’s Psychiatric Clinic, All-Union Institute of Experimental Medical Foreign a while also chief psychiatrist for Moscow, then deputy head, Department of Psychiatric Help, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Health. Late 1937 actively campaigned for the release of his mother, arrested in Kiev by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
Early 1938 himself arrested for these efforts. 1941, after start of World War 2, evacuated to Far North with other prisoners. Escaped en route and joined retreating units of Soviet Army, posing as a Doctor Petrov, who had managed to escape from German imprisonment.
Became military surgeon and gained rapid promotion. Appointed head of a frontline hospital. 1945 recognized and reported by a former Kiev acquaintance while in Koenigsburg and re-arrested.
Stripped of his military orders and medals and interned for several years in a Moscow prison. Some time after Stalin’s death, released from prison and rehabilitated, thanks to the strenuous intercession of his wife. Recuperated from the effects of his imprisonment, then appointed senior associate of the Ukraine Psychoneurological Research Institute, Khar’kov.
1956-1959 head, Organization(s) Methods Department, above institute Helped improve psychoneurological service in Ukraine. Devised methods of treating schizophrenia and other psychiatric ailments.
Wrote over 50 research works.
