In 1942 Georgy Konstantinovich graduated from the eighth grade of the 2nd factory ten-year school (school № 26 in Kostroma). In 1943 he entered the Kostroma Textile Institute.
From November 1943 to July 1944 Georgy served in the Military Service of the USSR Army in the reserve regiment. After retiring to the reserve worked as a welder, then a technologist at the Kirov (Chelyabinsk, CTP) plant (1944-1947). In parallel with work at the plant he studied at the Chelyabinsk Machine-Building Technical School. In 1947 he entered the Kostroma Textile Institute.
In 1952 Georgy Konstantinovich graduated with a diploma with distinction and having received the specialty of mechanical engineer was appointed chief engineer for the Dzhambul jute factory of the Uzbek SSR, where he worked until 1953.
In 1953 he returned to Kostroma and since then worked at the Kostroma State Technological University (previously a textile and then a technology institute). In 1960 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences, and in 1970 - Doctor of Technical Sciences. Passed all the steps of scientific and pedagogical work: assistant, associate professor, dean of the faculty, professor, provost for scientific work, head of the department.
At present Georgy Konstantinovich is a doctor of technical sciences, a professor-consultant of the Department of Theory of Mechanisms and Machines and Design of Textile Machines at the Kostroma State Technological University. He is engaged in the development of machines for the production of linen trusts, his work is devoted to the conditions for the gripping of textile materials by rollers, structural analysis of roller mechanisms of textile machines, and the study of random oscillations in textile machines.
With his participation, a new edition of the Encyclopedia of Machine Building (Volume IV-13, "Machines and Aggregates of the Textile and Light Industry", 1997) was published.
Professor Georgy Konstantinovich published more than 160 articles in scientific and technical periodicals, compilations, theses. He is the author of a textbook for textile universities "Designing machines for primary processing of bast fibers" (1967), a number of manuals: "Mechanics of roller mechanisms of textile machines" (1989), "Calculation and design of shafts and rollers of refining machines" (1992), "Design and calculation mechanisms of roller machines for processing fabrics" (1994), "Dynamics of textile machines" (1999), "Mechanics of textile machines in examples and tasks" (2005).
Georgy Konstantinovich was awarded the Honorary Titles: Honored Scientist and Technician of the Russian Federation (1994), Honorary Professor of Ivanovo State Textile Academy (1994), Honorary Worker of Higher Education of Russia (1996), Honorary Professor of Kostroma State Technological University (1996) and Honorary Doctor of the A.N. Kosygin Moscow State Textile University (2004). Since 2003, Georgy Konstantinovich - Honorary Citizen of Kostroma.
For 17 years Georgy Konstantinovich was the chairman of the regional council of the society "Knowledge" (1973-1990). Since 1993 – he is a full member of the Academy of Technological Sciences. For many years G.K. Kuznetsov is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Proceedings of the universities. Technology of the textile industry."
In youth and middle age Georgy Konstantinovich was fond of water and automobile tourism.
