Georgy Pavlovich Menglet was born on April 9, 1912 in Voronezh, Russian Federation.

Education

Georgy Pavlovich graduated from the Voronezh school number 11, where he made the stage debut in the drama group named after A.S. Griboedov under the guidance of literature teacher A.I. Lepine (1930). There he played Chatsky, William Tell, and others.

Later he graduated from the Central College of Theater Arts (1933, course of A. P. Petrovsky).

Career

Georgy Pavlovich Menglet worked in the Studio Theater under the direction of A.D. Wild, Leningrad Bolshoi Drama Theater, Stalinabad Theater of Russian Drama, where he acted as a director. In 1942-1945 he was the artistic director of the First Front Theater of the Tajik SSR. Since 1945 he worked in the Moscow Theater of Satire. He starred in movies and on television.

Georgy Pavlovich Menglet regularly visited Voronezh (the last time was in 1994).

He is the author of the work "Position - the first lover" (Moscow, 2001).

Achievements

  • In 2003 a memorial plaque was installed on the school building where Menglet studied (Volodarsky Street, 60).
