She served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1996 to 2011. Huser served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Judiciary committee. The Local Government committee.

The Ways and Means committee. And the Transportation committee, where she is chair. Huser was re-elected in 2006 with 8,493 votes, running unopposed.

Huser lost her 2011 re-election to Republican challenger Kim Pearson by only 126 votes. She serves as a Planning Specialist with Polk County Social Services and is director of Iowa Finance Authority's Title Guaranty Division. Huser was named to Governor Terry Branstad's Transportation 2020 Citizen Advisory Commission.
