In 1954 Gideon Alexander received a Master of Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in 1957 a Doctor of Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin.
Gideon Alexander started his career in 1958 as Research Physicist at Israel Atomic Energy Lab. Later he worked at Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, Israel, as an associate professor and senior research science physics from 1963 to1968. Sometimes Gideon Alexander worked as a visiting associate professor of physics at the University of California and visiting senior science of the European Organization of Nuclear Research in Geneve.
Now Gideon Alexander is a Professor Emeritus of Physics at the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel-Aviv Univesity.
Gideon Alexander has married Sima Peled on August 9, 1960, and has 2 sons: Yuval Alexander and Tal Alexander.
