(monograph), 1883, in which he was first to originate, formulate and defend the theory of the circumpolar origin of life, which is being confirmed in many ways—particularly by the discovery of fossil remains in the eocene deposits of Wyoming Also writer of pamphlets on Taxation of Corporate Property, 1880-1890. Occasional contributor to Popular Science Monthly, since 1883.
