The collection of poetry uses space as a metaphor — Andromeda is the name of a well-known constellation — and contributor Anthony Raspa noted how the poet’s "feet lead him to the border of the universe" with the intent of walking the whole expanse. The critic concluded that Andromede attendra "fuses disparate experiences consciously into a pattern of comprehension."

Critics compared Cyr’s "Songe que je bouge" to the work of famed nineteenth-century American poet Walt Whitman. G. Ross Roy wrote in "World Literature Today" that the collection features "a Whitmanesque view of the world." According to Constantina Mitchell, discussing "Songe que je bouge" in "Canadian Literature", the volume "displays Cyr’s preference for sparseness, both stylistic and thematic."
