Giorgos was the first in Greece to do research in primary sources concerning the Macedonian Issue and to publish the relevant documents.
Background
Giorgos was born in 1946 in Aridaía, Pella, Greece. His family name, Petsivas, from the Slavonic word "pets" (= to broil, to grill, to bake) was given to his ancestors because they had stolen the grilled meat that a Moslem bey was ready to eat.
Education
Giorgos studied in Primary and Secondary Schools in Aridaia. Afterward, the "Staurakos TV and Cinema School", Athens, and the University of Bucharest in Romania.
Career
After Giorgos finished his studies in Bucharest, returned at Athens and became a cadre of the Greek Government-run TV. In this very capacity, he directed films concerning the Macedonians. Thus, he rediscovered his ancestors and, accordingly, he abandoned his public job and spent the remainder of his life to studying the primary sources of Macedonia's History and publishing the.
