Goun Nishimura was first a pupil of Chikudo Kishi and after his death studied under Seiho Takeuchi.
Goun Nishimura was given the distinction of sending his works to Teiten Exhibition without having to pass preliminary tests (1920), judge of Teiten art exhibitions (1925). He had a delicate and refined style and excelled in painting miniatures, and modeled his art after his master Seiho. Later professor at Kyoto School of Art and then court artist (1937).
