During his life Leonid Afanasyev was involved not only in painting, but also in engineering, building and electicity spheres. Contributed to the evacuation of museum valuables in Omsk in 1941. After the Great Patriotic War, he helped to restore the exposition of Voronezh Regional Museum of Fine Arts. There is Afanasiev's personal fund in State Archives of the Voronezh Region (P-3044). Afanasyev published a number of articles about Mikhail Ivanovi
Education
He studied painting in private studios, exhibited his painting (Sevastopol) since 1910.
Career
Scientific employee of the Sevastopol Picture Gallery (1936-1938). Deputy director for science at Voronezh Regional Museum of Fine Arts (since 1939). After the Great Patriotic War, he lectured on the history of art at Voronezh State University, Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute.
