After his career began as a draftsman in the Newark office of Guilbert & Betelle, he supervised the construction of several of the firm’s important buildings, among which were the Hall of Records and the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, and Teachers' College at Montclair, New Jersey, United States. During a period of independent practice Mr. Behee designed many schools and hotels in Essex County, also was an architect of schools in Delaware in the DuPont Community Development. Also, he was a senior partner in the firm of Behee & Krahmer over a period of forty years.
