Gregory T. Norrell was born on November 24, 1960, in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. He is a son of L. N. Norrell, a university professor of English, and M. G. Norrell, a teacher.
Gregory T. Norrell received a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of West Georgia (currently University of West Georgia) in 1985. Four years later, it was followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
Gregory T. Norrell started his career at Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Idaho Falls as scientist and writer in 1992. After serving three years in that capacity, Norrell joined Dandelion Press and Dandelion Media as an author and publisher. Later, he became an owner of Dandelion Studios, a recording division of Dandelion Multimedia.
He wrote his first novel after he became irritated with Sartre’s Existentialism and Human Emotions. Norrell thought the philosopher’s thesis was pompous and unrealistic.
Gregory T. Norrell thinks that poetry is inspired by emotions, either his own or those he can temporarily ‘borrow’ from others, through others’ poetry, fiction, or music.
