Grigory Ivanovich graduated from school in Verkhnyaya Tishanka village of the Bobrovsky District of the Central Black Earth Region (1928). He graduated from Voronezh Teachers' Institute.
Grigory Ivanovich worked as a head of the Anninsky district department of national education (1939-1941). He worked as a teacher, head teacher of secondary school in the district Anna village .
He placed local history articles in the district newspaper. The initiator of the creation and director of the Anninsky Local History Museum (since the late 1960s). Kornyushin has compiled an archaeological map of the Voronezh Region, on which more than 150 previously unknown settlements and more than 200 burial mounds in the Bityug river basin have been applied.
He was fond of the archaeology of his native land, conducted excavations together with expeditions of the Voronezh State University and the Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
