He graduated from Kyoto University in 1920.
He served many years as professor of Hiroshima University of Science and Literature (presently Hiroshima University), received degree of Doctor of Literature (1947). Thereafter became head of Liberal Arts Department of same university but was soon transferred to his present post as professor at Literature Department of Osaka Municipal University.
His works include "Mukden and Liao-yang" and "Monograph on Manchurian Epigraphs".
