After returning to Iran, Hamid Mahmoudi established Hami Tehran Football Club in the city of Tehran. He is currently serving as both the CEO and head coach of the team. He has two sons, Hami Mahmoudi and Mani Mahmoudi, who are both playing as footballers for the same club.
He most recently played for two seasons for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted 20th overall by the Lions in the 2010 Canadian Football League Draft and signed a contract with the team on May 25, 2010. He played college football for the Montreal Carabins.
