Studied photography to find substitute for glass negatives. Applied for patent for “Photographic Pellicle,” 1887, however Henry M. Reichenback of Eastman Dry Plate Company also applied and received patent for “manufacture of flexible photographic films,” 1889, patent contested 12 years, obtained patent just before his death.
