Education
Hans Bischoff studied with Theodor Kullak. He taught piano and theory at Kullak's Neue Akademie der Tonkunst. He also taught at the Stern Conservatory.
Career
Hans Bischoff was active as a concert pianist. Along with editing Bach's works, Bischoff also edited and revised his late teacher's book on piano playing. The book went into multiple German editions, and was also published in English translation in the United States. He edited the 2nd and 3rd editions of Dr. Ad. Kullak's "Esthetik des Klavierspiels" (Berlin, 1876 and 1889; English translanslation New York, 1895); published an " Auswahl Händel'scher Klavierwerke," a "Kritische Ausgabe von J. S. Bach's Klavierwerken" etc.
