Nikolay Ivanovich Sizov studied piano with N.K. Metner, A.N. Koreshchenko. In 1914 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, with a large silver medal in piano class K.N. Igumnova, according to the composition class N.K. Medtner.
Since 1915 he lived in the city of Voronezh, a piano teacher at the Music College, Conservatory, performed in concerts. Among the students - M.S. Zverev, V.M. Morozova. In 1919 (according to other sources - in 1918) he returned to Moscow, until 1922 he was in military service. In subsequent years he became a famous theater composer.
