Helena Wilson attended Academia De Dibujo Tecnico y Architectura in Caracas and studied art at the Universities of Florence and Perugia, Italy. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Columbia College, Chicago, in 1976.
A self-employed photographer and interior design consultant, Helena Wilson had worked since 1974 as coordinator of interior design for the Chicago Board of Education.
Before coming to the United States in 1971 she owned an art gallery and conducted an interior design business in Caracas. Helena Wilson was also the chief designer for the Venezuelan Presidential Palace and of several government offices and the Venezuelan Presidential country house.
In 1970 Helena Wilson was chief designer for the Venezuelan government-owned hotels.
Helena Wilson has been a member of Professional Women Photographers since 1975.
