Mr. Wallin arrived in this country when a young man, and received his architectural training in St. Paul, Minn. After beginning his career in New York where he was employed for a brief period in the office of Henry Bacon, he moved to Savannah and in that city continued practice the rest of his life, first in association with H. W. Witcover. Later he organized the firm of Wallin & Young, and when that association was ended in the early 1920's, entered into partnership with Arthur Finch Comer and established an office at 23 Abercorn Street.
In his practice in Savannah Mr. Wallin designed the first Y.M.C.A. Building in 1910 and the present building dating from 1925; the 37th Street School, 1913; DeRener Apartments, 1919, the Realty Building, 1925, and the Armstrong Junior College Auditorium, his last work, completed shortly before his death. During one period he was associated with a group of local architects on several city schools, including the Charles Willis School, 1928, the Florence Street School, 1929, and the City High School, 1920.
