HENRY BAILEY ALDEN

Background

Henry bailey Alden was born and educated at Somerville, Massachusetts.

Education

He studied Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Career

Henry Alden entered the office of Parker, Thomas & Rice in Boston. Mr. Alden remained with the firm for many years, and was identified with the designing of many outstanding buildings in Boston, notable examples of which were the Herald-Traveler Building on Mason Street, the U. S. Machinery Corporation Building, and later the Office Building at 140 Federal Street. In addition he designed, independently, numerous buildings in the environs of Boston, including the Public Library at Westwood, and many beautiful homes.

Achievements

• Mr. Alden is identified with the designing of many outstanding buildings in Boston, notable examples of which were the Herald-Traveler Building on Mason Street, the U. S. Machinery Corporation Building.
