He was educated in the public schools of New York, he received an early architectural training in Brooklyn’s Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Macomb moved to Merchantville in later years where he continued practice, until his retirement in 1925.
He worked for a time in the Philadelphia office of James Windrim. Independently he designed various public and commercial buildings in the city, and during subsequent years of practice in New Jersey was architect of the Chew Printing House in Camden, Grace Episcopal Church at Merchantville, and the National Bank in Camden.
He was an early member of the A. I. A. Chapter, raised to Institute Fellowship in 1888.
