PLATT, Henry was born on December 26, 1842 in Oldham. Son of late John Platt of Werneth Park, Oldham, formerly Member of Parliament for Oldham, D.L., Justice of the Peace, and Bryn of Neuadd, Llanfairfechan, and Alice, daughter of late Miles Radcliffe, Oldham.
Studied at Cheltenham College. Friedrich Wilhelm’s Real Schule, Berlin. St. John’s College Cambridge.
High Sheriff, Carnarvonshire, 1877. High Sheriff, Anglesey, 1880. First Mayor of Bangor.
1883; partner in the firm of Williams and Company, 1619 bankers, Chester and North Wales (now Lloyd’s Bank, Ltd.). Decorated for long service in the Militia. D.L., Justice of the Peace; late Colonel 4th Battalion R.W. Fusiliers.
