Another noted structure in Ohio, St Peters Cathedral in Cincinnati, is generally ascribed to Mr. Walter. Built with a square tower surrounded on three sides by a Corinthian colonnade of twelve columns, and dating from the same period as the old State Capitol, it is described as "one of the handsomest and most monumental of Greek Revival churches in this country’’.
At the time of his death Mr. Walter was survived by a son William formerly in practice with him and later a well know architect in Cincinnati.
