Career
Doctor Sylvanus Plympton, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, November 5, 1867 (She died, May 9, 1910). 2d, Jane, d. late Honorary Nathan H. and Ann Elizabeth (Oarr) Langworthy, of Brookline, June 15, 1911. In service of United States Sanitary Commission during the Civil War.
Ordained, February 9, 1868, as pastor of First Parish (Unitarian), Framingham, Massachusetts. Pastor Third Religious Society, Dorchester, Boston, 1873-1877. Lecturer in colleges, schools, etc., throughout country, 1877-1883.
Secretary Unitarian S.S. Society, 1883-1892. Since 1892 preaching, lecturing and traveling in the United States and Europe. His lectures on Pagan and Christian Rome, given at Lowell Institute, Boston, 1874-1876, are the earliest examples of a course of lectures with stereopticon views in which discourse and pictures are blended as in an illustrated book.
