Education

Graduate Oxford, 1880. (Museum Doctor, Racine College). Studied music, Stuttgart, Florence, Paris and Vienna.

Career

Has served as musical critic on various New York publications, Harper’s Weekly, New York World, etc. Founder and conductor The Washington Symphony Orchestra. President Manuscript Society, 1897-1898.

Member National Institute of Arts and Letters. Composer (operas): The Begum. Don Quixote; Robin Hood.
