Student Washington University, 1886-1888. Studied art, Saint Louis School of Fine Arts, 1887-1891, Julian Academy, Paris, 1892-1896. Pupil of Benjamin Constant and Jean P. Laurens.
Career
Studied steam engineering and was president Universal Turbine Company, 1915-1919. Portrait painter, since 1894. Painted portraits of Theodore Roosevelt, William McKinley and Lincoln for Union League Club (Brooklyn), Frances East. Willard, Cardinal Newman, Oscar Johnson of Saint Louis (donor of Oscar Johnson Institute for Research), Mary Baker Eddy, and many others
“Nazarene or Christ Triumphant” painted in 1932, exhibited in 38 churches, Hall of Religion at Century of Progress Exposition and in many cities: “Immortality” exhibited at Rockefeller Center (New York City), San Diego Fair, and Los Los Los Angeles
