Mr. Wenzell was educated in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and in European schools.
In Detroit he gained experience while employed in successive periods in local offices until 1912, in which year he entered into partnership with the late George D. Mason, under the name of George D. Mason and Company. In that association Mr. Wenzell collaborated on the design of a number of important buildings in Detroit, the Central Woodward Congregational Church; Highland Park Y.M.C.A. Building; Masonic Temple; Detroit Yacht Club, and an office for the Standard Savings and Loan Company.
During the mid-thirties Mr. Wenzell devoted much time to work on Federal Housing Projects, and at the time of his death was engaged in preparing plans for the James Herman Housing Project, the largest in the city.
A well known architect in Detroit, he was a past vice-president of the Detroit Chapter, A.I.A., and a member of the Michigan Society of Architects.
