Hidemaro Nambu was born in 1856, Morioka, Iwate, Japan. Hidemaro belonged to the Nambu family, daimyo of Morioka.

In 1869 he went to Tokyo and accompanied Prince Hirotsune Kacho-no-Miya on his American trip. In 1878 after returning to Japan, he was adopted as heir by Marquis Shigenobu okuma. In 1904 leaving the okuma family he returned to the Nambu family and became director.
