After graduating from Tokyo University (1930) Hideo Kumabe did research at Otsuka Health Consultant Bureau and at Nakano Sanatorium. Hideo Kumabe was chief of BCG manufacturing section of Tuberculosis Prevention Bureau, and has since been studying the control and prevention of tuberculosis in Japan.
