Career
A retainer of the Mito Clan. After leaving his clan, he toured various provinces and recruited loyalists for the cause of restoration of the Imperial regime. Considering the foreign policy of Roju (Shogunate Prime Minister) Nobu- masa Ando weak-kneed, he and six of his triends, assaulted him in January, 1862 at the Sakashita Gate of the Shogun's palace in Edo but was killed after a desperate fight.
