Oonishi, Hironobu was born on July 13, 1935 in Osaka, Japan. Son of Ichiro and Fukue (Kosumi) Oonishi.


Doctor of Medicine, Osaka City University Medical School, 1962. Doctor of Philosophy, Osaka City University Medical School, 1975.


Lecturer Osaka City University Medical School, since 1978. Chief department orthopedic surgery Osaka Minami National Hospital, 1978-2001, vice director, 1993-2001. Lecturer Osaka University Medical School, since 1980.

Guest professor National Biomechanics Research Center, Montpelier, France, 1975—1976, Kyoto University, since 1993. President 1st through 6th International Symposium on Ceramics in Medicine, 1989—1992. Director H. Oonishi Memorial Joint Replacement Institute Tominaga Hospital, since 2001, 14th and 15th International Symposium for Technology of Anthropology, 2001.
