Hiroyasu Ogata

Background

Born in Fukushima Prefecture. Graduated from Waseda University (1930). Kamekichi Ogata, Dean of Nihon University's Faculty of Arts, is his younger brother.

Career

Became a librarian in the Imperial Library (1935-46). Was conferred a doctorate, L.L.D. (1950), and the following year returned to his alma mater as professor. Is a brilliant scholar in Kyokuyömedieval and modern education.

  Among his works are "Aspects of Life of Common People Under the Feudal System ", "The Life and Works of Masazumi Kamochi" and "The Education in the Artistic Accomplishments in the Medieval Age."
