Joined the staff of the Tokyo Nichi Nichi newspaper and became a member of the Yiiaikai, a labor organization (1919). Joining the labor union movement, he led labor disputes in Hitachi and Yubari coal mines as adviser of the Miners Union. Became head of the Political Section of the Federation of Labor (Sodmei) and then took leading posts of the Tapan LaborFarmer, Japan Mass and Social Mass Parties.
Elected to the House of Representatives (1936).
