Hito-o was born in 1890, in Nagasaki, Japan.
He graduated from Kyushu University in 1916. He became assistant professor of Kyushu Univensity in 1922 and received degree in 1923. He studied in Europe and America from 19201 to 1927.
He became professor of 〇saka Prefectural Medical College in 1924. Further he became a professor of Medical Department of 〇saka University in 1931; he served successively as president of Japan Surgical Society and director of hospital attached to Osaka University ; he held additional post as professor of Nara Prefectural Medical College from 1947 to 1952; following retirement under age limit from 〇saka University he became emeritus professor of that university in 1953; the same year he became director of Kansai Labor Accident Hospital. He conducted researches on hemorrhage, stanching, anesthesia, blood protein.
